The Philo Holcombe Collection

Description

Philo Holcombe was the telegraph operator at Julesburg Station in 1865. He was present during the January 7th, 1865 attack on Julesburg Station, which was a part of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Sioux response to the Sand Creek Massacre. On February 2nd, 1865 tribes returned to burn the Julesburg Station which contributed to the relocation of the town site.
